IVP Authors at New Horizon 2024

New Horizon 2024 is right around the corner. The theme this year is “Extra-Ordinary.” Phil Knox, author Story Bearer and The Best of Friends, will be speaking on the power of friendship with Sheridan Voysey. Catherine Campbell, author of God Isn't Finished With You Yet, Consider Him, and Journey With Me, will be speaking on Life - Not What I expected.

What is NEW HORIZON?

New Horizon is a seven day Christian festival that takes place every year in August in Coleraine, Northern Ireland. It exists to provide a space and time in which thousands of people of all ages can be taught from the bible, be inspired through worship and story, develop a missional heart, and engage with relevant and challenging issues.

IVP Inspirational Speakers at New Horizon:

Phil Knox is an evangelist and missiologist at the Evangelical Alliance. He is passionate about making Jesus known and the power of friendship. He is also an award winning performance poet and author of Story Bearer and The Best of Friends. 

Phil will be exploring the most important, least talked about relationship in the church with Sheridan Voysey - the power of friendship. The talk will take place on Wednesday 7 August. 

Over 20% of British adults have no close friends, creating a wellbeing crisis. As a society we have more connections, but less close friends than ever before. What if the church could be good news in this vital area of need?

Join Phil Knox and Sheridan Voysey for a fun, informative session on the heart and art of making our and other’s friendships flourish. They will explore the power of friends, the pressure on our relationships, and how we can cultivate lifelong, life-giving and life-extending friendships. 

Catherine Campbell is a writer and speaker who focuses on what the Bible has to say about life’s tough stuff. She is the author of  God Isn't Finished With You Yet, Consider Him, and Journey With Me. 

Catherine will be speaking on Life - Not What I'd Expected. What happens when your dream turns sour, or your goals become unachievable because your circumstances change? How do you make sense of what you hadn’t bargained for? How is God glorified in lives that are broken? This seminar unpacks the struggle of life’s unexpected challenges, against the background of God’s grace, and our place in His Big Plan. Catherine and participants will look together at dealing with wrong attitudes, and learning to change our focus with our eyes fixed on the joy set before us.
